A finely engraved folio sheet map of the British Isles. Tremendously detailed, providing a unique snapshot into the political divisions at this early 19th century date. A beautiful elephant folio size map, published in John Thomson's much sought-after monumental "New General Atlas" (1817, Edinburgh).

In excellent, clean antiquarian condition with attractive full hand color. On a c. 21 ” W x 28 1/4 ” H sheet (engraved image size is 24 " x 20 ").
