A fine 17th century map of these Turkish islands by A.M. Mallet. Mallet was a well traveled military engineer and geographer who worked in 17th century Paris under King Louis XIV. From his monumental "Description de L'Univers". With a decorative title banner and numerous tall masted sailing ships sailing in the seas, including several engaged in war with smoke billowing from their hulls.
In excellent, clean antiquarian condition with attractive full hand color. On a c. 6 1/2 ” W x 8 ” H sheet (engraved image size is 4 " x 6 ").
