A lovely 1920's period 3/4 leather binding with charming gilt pictorial spine. Smooth spine, with gilt title and author, depicts a floral environment with doves. Three-quarter leather and marbled paper covered boards are ruled in gilt, gently rubbed. Binding tight and sound. t.e.g., Fore- and bottom edges deckled.
Mostly clean internally with scattered foxing. Two-tone frontis; title page printed in black and red. Several decorative woodcuts at chapter heads. Text in French. Marbled endpapers. Limited numbered edition of which this is
no. 604.
In VG+ condition, overall. Highly appealing shelf appearance.
Book measures 5 1/2" x 7 3/4". 239 pp.
