A handsome five volume set of mid- to late 19th century fine red half leather bindings. Spines in six gilt-ruled compartments with gilt title, gilt volume numbers and raised bands. Red half leather and red and gilt marbled paper covered boards are ruled in gilt; leather lightly scuffed at extremities and spine leather slightly darkened. Bindings are tight and sound. t.e.g. Mostly very clean internally. Engraved frontis portrait in volume one depicts Charles Lamb.
In VG++ clean condition. An appealing set of leather bindings with an attractive shelf appearance; good, as well, for content.
Books measure c. 6" x 8 1/2".
