A charming miniature period full leather binding. Gilt title on spine with raised bands, leather suffers a very tiny, shallow scuff near the title. Top board with central gilt device and "L.L.". Lovely patterned gilt inner dentelles. Binding is tight, sound and very clean. a.e.g.
Mostly clean internally with five engravings including a chromolithographed frontis. Just a few pages have some old staining from pressed flowers. Ornate endpapers in gilt and pink depict all manner of mythical creature. Two pages exhibit minor tears in the bottom margin with no loss of text.
In VG+ to near fine, clean condition. A beautiful example of 19th century fine leather binding in miniature.
Book measures c. 2 3/4" x 3 3/4". 284 pp.
