A gorgeous mid-19th century red full leather binding. Heavily ornately gilt spine with gilt title on contrasting black leather label. Beautiful blindtooled boards are ruled in patterned gilt. Front joint with short split at tail. Patterned gilt inner dentelles. Binding tight and sound. a.e.g. A bit of light dampstaining internally, confined mostly to the page margins. Text in Latin. Marbled endpapers.
In VG to VG+ condition. An outstanding example of fine binding in spite of the minor wear with a highly appealing shelf appearance.
Book measures c. 4 1/4" x 6 1/8".
