Front and rear boards show intricate illustration in gilt of what appears to be cherubs seated around an ornate floral wreath. Two birds are seated inside the wreath.
Extremities are a little rubbed. A similar ornate gilt illustration decorates the spine with a cloaked cherub playing a horn, a large urn overflowing with flowers. The head and tail of the spine are very slightly chipped, as illustrated in the photo. Joints of the boards are cracked towards the bottom, but binding is holding firmly. a.e.g.
Portrait Frontis of the anon author, very clean internally with only light minor scattered foxing. Book is set in Dover, NH and Maine seacoast region. 296 pp.
Book measures c. 5 1/8"W x 7 3/4"H.
With a nice decorative shelf appeal, almost a publishers gift binding.
