A handsome 1920-30's fine black half leather binding. Spine in six compartments with gilt title, author and central gilt Cathedral arches devices; raised bands. Black half leather and blue cloth boards; cloth very lightly soiled but this is not as prominent as our photos would suggest. Binding, overall, tight, sound and clean. t.e.g
Mostly clean internally with light foxing on first and last few pages as well as the page edges. Pages also exhibit gentle warping which in no way is reflected on the binding (this appears to have
occurred before the book was rebound in leather). Complete with 56 plates. Color frontis, with tissue guard, depicts Canterbury Cathedral. Charming marbled endpapers.
In VG condition, overall with near fine leather binding.
Book measures c. 7" x 8 3/4". 344 pp.
