A mid- 18th century period full leather binding. Boards detached with f.f.e. Mostly clean internally with six fine (copper) engraved plates. Fold-out frontis depicts "The Duke of Devonshire's House at Chatsworth near the Peake Derbyshire". Decorative borders at chapter head and ornate device at chapter end. Each section with its own title page. 

"Charles Cotton (April 28, 1630 - February, 1687) was an English poet, best-known for translating the work of Michel de Montaigne from the French" as well as his contributions to the fishing publication 'Compleat Angler'. 

In Good+ to VG condition, overall. Internally clean with attractive engravings. A charming 18th century book of poetry by Cotton. 

Book measures c. 4 1/4" x 7". 348 pp.
