A huge mid-late 19th century half leather binding. Protected within a mylar
jacket. Spine in six compartments with gilt title and volume, raised bands. Spine cracked at center and along bottom of front joint. Half leather and cloth boards are gently worn. Binding tight and sound.
Mostly very clean internally with a profusion of text illustrations and steel engraved plates. Engravings on steel from art by George H. Boughton, Henriette Browne,
J. C. Horsely, Sir Edwin Landseer, Sir D. Wilkie, Thomas Gerard, D. Huntington, August Ludwig,
