A charming mid- to late 19th century period brown publisher's cloth. Pictorial top board and spine ornately embossed in gilt and black. Binding sound, gently worn. 

Mostly clean internally with twenty illustrations and a hand-colored folding map. Oblong folding "Map showing the location of the Yellowstone National Park and its Prospective Railroad Connection with the Eastern States", with original hand color, is attractive and clean with a short tear near where bound to the book. Engraved frontis depicts "The Great Geyser Basin of the Upper Yellowstone". Tiny sticker on inside front board "Charles Everett Warren / No. 51 Union Park / Boston, Mass."; light stamp on endpaper. Lacks the map "Hayden's Geological Survey of Yellowstone National Park". Dark blue endpapers. 

In VG+ condition, overall, with an attractive 19th century hand colored map of Yellowstone National Park. 

Book measures c. 5 5/8" x 7 3/4". Oblong folding map measures c. 28" x 10". 256 pp.
