A mid 19th century three volume set in period red 1/2 leather bindings. Spines in six gilt-ruled compartments, gilt title and raised bands. Half leather and marbled paper covered boards. Leather chipped / rubbed at extremities. Joint leather rubbed, a few joints starting to split at ends. Bindings tight and sound.
Scattered foxing internally w/ a profusion of fine steel-engraved plates. We count 187 steel engraved plates (61+60+66) depicting cathedrals and their plans. Marbled endpapers.
In VG clean condition, overall with nearly two hundred fine steel engravings. Books measure 7" x 11."
