Four fine late 19th century half leather bindings. Smooth spines w/ patterned gilt-ruled compartments, central gilt devices and title on contrasting leather labels. Some chipping at heads of spine - retains a highly appealing shelf appearance. Half leather and marbled paper covered boards are mostly clean w/ smooth, supple leather, minimal wear. Front joint of "Perth" volume tender, front joint of
"Mannering" volume cracked. Bindings tight and sound. t.e.g. Mostly very clean internally. Each volume contains a
frontis illustration. Marbled endpapers. Page edges soiled from shelf life.
In VG+ condition, an attractive four volume set of Sir Walter Scott in leather. Books measure c. 5 1/4" x 7 1/2".
