mid-19th century red quarter leather binding. Smooth red leather spine w/
gilt title. Cloth covered boards are lightly soiled w/ some wear, corners
lightly bumped. Binding sound.
Mostly
clean internally, pages a bit stiffened but this is quite minor. Very light,
very scattered foxing confined mostly to the first and last few pages. Includes
poems of nature, childhood, comedy, tragedy and sorrow, the imagination,
sentiment and reflection, and religion. Poets include Elizabeth Barrett
Browning, William Blake, William Cowper, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Oliver
Goldsmith, Charles Dickens, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Horace, John Keats,
Sappho, Thomas Moore and William Wordsworth, just to name a few from this highly
extensive list.
Overall, in VG to VG+ condition; uncommon in leather. Book measures c. 7 1/4" x 10". 798 pp
