An
attractive six volume set of mid-19th century publisher's period cloth bindings w/
wonderful pictorial gilt spines. Smooth spines each show a different scene
- Pegasus, Tell, Phaedra, Gustav Adolph, Alea Rudolstadt, etc. Spine cloth
gently rubbed w/ a small nick in on of the volumes. Cloth boards are
tooled in blind. Bindings sound. Internally foxed. Hinges
cracked. Volume 3/4 missing title page, first few pages of volume 1/2
detached. All volumes lack a first endpapers (as issued, it appears).
Frontis in volume one depicts portrait of Schiller. Text in German.

19th century set difficult to find complete. Appealing shelf
appearance. Books measure c. 5" x 6 1/4".
