A gorgeous 18th century full leather binding. Ornately gilt spine and boards, raised bands. Leather, overall, smooth and supple, lightly discolored at head of bottom board. Binding tight and sound. a.e.g.

Mostly very clean internally w/ very light scattered foxing. Contains two books, different publications and complete unto themselves. First imprint pertains to the Madonna w/ engraved title page showing Mary w/ a sleeping baby Jesus; frontis depicts the angel coming to Mary to tell her about the birth of Jesus, by Joseph Passarus. Text of first imprint printed in black and red throughout. Both books in Italian. Floral endpapers.

In VG+ to near fine, clean condition. A splendid binding w/ attractive text. Book measures 4" x 6 1/2."
