charming, ornately blindstamped mid-19th century full leather binding.
Gilt title on spine. Entire binding is intricately blind-tooled w/
Victorian-era floral devices. Leather chipped at spine head, gently
rubbed, corners lightly bumped. Binding is very slightly cocked. a.e.g.
Includes
seven lovely engraved plates, including the half title page. Light scattered
soiling internally w/ some evidence of very light dampstaining which appears
confined to the engraved plates and endpapers (indicating that this light
soiling may have occurred before the book was bound). A couple of signatures are
slightly shaken but, overall, binding remains sound. Hinges cracked.
In
Good to Good+ condition. Book measures c. 5 1/4" x 7 1/2". 330
