A 1930's period publisher's hardcover w/ dustjacket. Green cloth book w/ gilt facsimile signature on top board, smooth spine in gilt ruled compartments w/ gilt title on contrasting burgundy label. Binding is tight, sound and very clean. Dustjacket exhibits soiling and some edgewear (w/ short tears).
Text block is mostly clean w/ a uniform age-toning and light, very scattered soiling. Portrait frontis of Dickens is "Sir Henry Dickens' favorite portrait of his father". Contains a full page "Facsimile of the first page of the manuscript of 'The Life of Our Lord' ". I nscription on f.f.e., "To Patty Sue from Mrs. Moffatt / Nov 23, 1934". Illustrated endpapers w/ gold stars (matches dustjacket).
Overall, this Dickens first edition is in VG+ condition w/ a VG dusjacket. A nice example for addition to any Dickens library.
Book measures c. 5" x 7 3/4." 128 pp.
