An early 19th-century full calf binding.  Smooth spine in gilt ruled compartments, gilt title on contrasting red leather label. Board corners gently bumped.  Leather is smooth and supple.  Joint leather gently rubbed, front joint cracked at tail.

Scattered foxing internally but nothing severe.  Bookplate and inscription inside front board.  Rubber stamp on rear of title page.  Former owner's address label on inside rear board, "Ada J. Merchant / Main Street / Wales, MA 01081". Lacks f.f.e.

In VG condition, appears to be an uncommon edition of this memoir. Appears to be largely concerning missionary work in Calcutta, India.

Book measures 4" x 6." 475 pp.
