A handsome early 19th century publisher's period three-quarter leather binding. Gilt title and author on spine w/ raised bands. Three-quarter leather boards w/ tan cloth, minor edgewear w/ leather worn at board corners. Leather rubbed along joints. Binding tight and sound.
Mostly very clean internally w/ a profusion of lithographed plates. Double-page steel engraved frontis depicts two of Whistler's subjects.
In VG++ condition. A lovely and clean example.
Book measures c. 6 5/8" x 8 3/8." 339 pp.
