Period full leather binding, decorative embossed boards. Heavily gilt spine w/ title and year. Intricately blindtooled boards w/ central gilt devices. Leather is, overall, supple, boards and extremities are gently rubbed. Joint leather only very gently worn. Binding tight and sound. a.e.g.
Mostly clean internally w/ ten steel engraved plates. Frontis depicts a young woman reading a book, "The Fair Student". Plates are foxed, tissue guards present. Inscription on f.f.e.
In all, a lovely example of this decorative 19th century fine binding.
Book measures c. 4 1/8" x 6 3/8." 384 pp.
