Period 1/2 leather binding. Spine in six compartments w/ gilt title, author and devices, gilt dragon near spine tail, raised bands; leather gently rubbed along spine ends and bands. Cloth boards are mostly clean, corners rubbed w/ some loss of leather and gilt. Binding tight and sound. Marbled edges. An attractive book.
Mostly clean internally, very scattered, light pencil notations in a few places, easily erased. Previous owner's signature on second free endpaper. Bookplate, "Thomas Lascelles Kirk." Marbled endpapers.
Appears to be a scarce 19th century edition of this title, complete in one volume.
