Nine volumes of George Meredith's works.  Uncontinuous pagination.

A highly appealing nine volume matching set of early 20th century half red leather bindings.  Spines in six compartments w/ gilt title and author, ruled in gilt and four compartments w/ central gilt devices, raised bands; a lovely shelf appearance w/ only slight nicks in leather along the bands.  Half red leather and red cloth boards are mostly bright and clean, minimal edgewear.  Leather is supple and smooth.  Bindings are tight and sound. Top edge gilt.

Text block is mostly very clean.  Lovely marbled endpapers.  Appear to never have been read as text block is tightly bound.

In all, a fine, clean set of early 20th century half red leather bindings.
