Mid-19th century full leather presentation binding. Spine, with gilt title, in six compartments with central gilt devices, leather is gently faded and slightly rubbed with just a little wear at the spine ends. Boards exhibit lovely gilt patterns, top board exhibits central gilt presentation, "Mr. & Mrs. Sam'l Eddy. From Mrs. Oliver Barrett, 50th Anniversary." Leather is, overall, smooth and supple with some edge wear and very lightly bumped corners. Lovely patterned gilt inner dentelles. Binding is tight and sound. a.e.g. but rubbed. Text block is uniformly age-toned to a golden patina w/ only the most scattered foxing. F.f.e. suffers a small, one inch tear but this is easily repairable w/ a little archival tape. In all, a charming mid-19th century leather bound example of the New Testament w/ the Psalms of David.
