Beautiful period full red leather signed binding, boards and spine decoratively blindstamped. Binding is by J. Goodrich, Philadelphia. Gilt title on spine; engraved frontis and 8 engraved plates, including 4 by Cowperthwait, perhaps the well known map publisher.
In VG+ condition, a.e.g., sound tight binding, internally remarkably clean and fresh with the plates retaining their original tissue guards. Only gently worn overall, much better than typical for these types of Gift books. Interestingly, with a Sept 4th, 1845 inscription, despite the 1846 imprint.
Measures 4 1/2" x 6 1/4." 288 pp.
