A decorative early 19th century American publisher's period full calf binding. Patterned, gilt-ruled compartments on smooth spine, gilt title and decorative devices; leather gently rubbed, gilt remains bright. Leather boards are smooth and supple with gentle edge wear and several shallow nicks as typical. Leather lightly rubbed along joints. Binding tight and sound. Text block exhibits light scattered foxing and soiling throughout with all 24 pages of woodcuts present. Collates complete, the woodcuts with great appeal and charm. Frontis plate has small chip and tear, rest of the plates appear to be mostly clean and nice.
