An attractive gilt two volume set of matching early 20th century period bindings with decorative leather spines. Smooth spines in gilt-ruled compartments with central gilt devices in each, gilt author on contrasting red leather labels, gilt titles on contrasting black leather labels; leather very gently rubbed at spine head but overall is well preserved and quite appealing visually. Boards are clean with minimal wear.
Scattered minor light foxing throughout text blocks. Blue ex-libris stamps, "Bibliotheek Alcysius-college 's-Gravenhage" on title pages. Similar stamps on f.f.e. and small plate on inside front pastedowns.
Books measure c. 8 5/8" H x 5 3/4". A nice set, uncommon thus.
