Period embossed decorative cloth, nice and clean with only light minimal wear at extremities. Gilt is exceptionally bright. Text block with minor light scattered foxing, overall very nice example of this uncommon book.
Inscribed by the author, New York 1857. Rev H. T. Cheever is most well know for his early documentation of the Polynesia in "Life in the Sandwich Islands.".
