Fifth edition. Six volume set in period 1/2 leather bindings, profusely illustrated with a wide variety of very fine engraved plates.
In VG+ condition. Front board of volume one detached, other bindings are sound and tight. Clean ex-libris set, old call numbers removed from spines, just faintly discernible. Well worth having a book-binder repair front board on volume one.
Each volume measures 6" x 9."
vol 1: 364pp, 46 plates,
vol 2: 387 pp, 91 plates,
vol 3: 367 pp, 79 plates,
vol 4: 256 pp, 35 plates,
vol 5: 404 pp, 47 plates,
vol 6: 281 pp, frontis + 16 plates.
The set which gave meaning to the phrase "grangerized".
