86 pp. Attractive early 20th century limited/ numbered edition in a deluxe burgundy half leather signed binding (cannot make out the tiny stamped binders name- perhaps "*wavand"?). Gilt title and author on spine, raised bands which are gently rubbed. Decorative red cloth boards. Leather gently worn at joints, front board and edges rubbed, corners lightly bumped - none of this detracts from the beauty and shelf appeal of this fine folio edition. a.e.g.

Mostly very clean internally, title page printed in alternating black and red. Hinges cracked due to the massive weight of the text block and heavy boards, but hinges and boards still holding very firmly. Sound and solid. 105 lovely full-page plates, about 1/2 are halftone and the other half richly printed photogravure in various colors, all with original printed tissue guards.

Limited Edition, #9 of one hundred fifty copies printed on hand-made heavy Holland paper. A beautiful book and printing production. Book measures c. 9 1/4" W x 12 1/2" H.
