509 pp. Original publishers cloth, spine with gilt title and pictorial gilt stamp of a man smoking a long pipe, front board with large gilt illustration of a temple.
Cloth is gently worn, some minor fraying to spine ends, but overall attractive. Internally well preserved, clean and tight, with 2 large folding maps (the River Jordan & the Dead Sea) and 30 wood engraved plates. Book measures c. 6 1/2" W x 9 3/4" H; map measures c. 13" W x 24 3/4" H.
A better more attractive than average example.
