"E. Elephant Esq. Showman," published by McLoughlin Brothers, 1894, New York. Quite charming, a lovely little Circus related shape book by one of the great juvenile publishing firms of the 19th century. As typical, great period chromolithographs throughout. Mr. Elephant and his friends in their circus show, including tigers, seals, an Indian knife thrower, lots of clowns, etc.
In Good+ to VG condition, bright
and mostly clean, shows some wear, minor creasing and a small light brown stain
along left edge in the gutter. 12 pages plus covers. Measures c. 6 1/4" x 9
1/4."
