Chromolithographed frontis to vol. 1.
Two volume set in period full red leather bindings, a.e.g., raised bands in five gilt-ruled compartments, gilt inner dentelles, title in gilt on spines and front boards, chromolithographed half title, 320 striking steel engravings.
In VG+ condition. Fold-out engraving at the front of volume 1 split at fold line. Gently worn, bindings sound, mostly clean, scattered, light foxing, some plates with corners dampstained, but many plates are entirely clean.
Each volume measures 5" x 6 3/4", volume 1: 320 pages, volume 2: 320 pages.
