White Slavery in the Barbary States - 1853
135 pp. An ornately blind-tooled mid-19th century publisher's period green/ brown cloth binding. Boards are intricately blind-tooled in rule, central gilt title and author on top board. Spine is slightly sunned and boards exhibit several small areas of light fading but, in all, quite a nice example. Binding is tight and sound. Text block is mostly clean w/ numerous woodcuts throughout. Previous owner inscription in pencil on f.f.e, "Geo. G. Fogg - 1853". A charming and clean example of this mid-19th century history on slavery in the North African states of Tripolitania, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. Measures 7" H x 4 3/4" W. In all, a very nice example of this item, much better than expected. Ordering: Please use the Buy Me button below, or phone the shop to order this map.
